Last Christmas
03:18
|
|||
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me, baby
Do you recognize me?
Well, it's been a year
It doesn't surprise me
(Merry Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying, "I love you, " I meant it
Now, I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
A crowded room, friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you, and your soul of ice
My god, I thought you were someone to rely on
Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover but you tore me apart
Now, I've found a real love you'll never fool me again
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
On the first day of Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone...

I Saw Three Ships
05:14
|
|||
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day?
And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas Day in the morning?
The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Pray, wither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
Pray, wither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas Day in the morning?
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the souls on earth shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the souls on earth shall sing,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

Christmas Shoes
04:59
|
|||
It was almost Christmas time,
there I stood in another line
Tryin' to buy that last gift or two,
not really in the Christmas mood
Standing right in front of me
was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing 'round like little boys do
And in his hands he held a pair of shoes
And his clothes were worn and old,
he was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn't believe what I heard him say:
Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if mama meets Jesus tonight
He counted pennies for what seemed like years
Then the cashier said, "son, there's not enough here"
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me and said,
"Mama made Christmas good at our house
Though most years she just did without
Tell me Sir, what am I going to do,
Somehow I've got to buy her these Christmas shoes"
So I laid the money down, I just had to help him out
And I'll never forget the look on his face when he said
"Mama's gonna look so great"
Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if mama meets Jesus tonight
There must have been some magic
in those Christmas shoes he found
For when he placed them on his mom's feet
she began to dance around?
"Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size"
It was at this moment, our hero realized he was being swindled...
Could you hurry, sir, daddy says there's not much time
You see, she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if mama meets Jesus...
"Wait a second, why does your mom want Air Jordans?"
...Tonight!!!

Nog Song
03:42
|
|||
You want a beverage so sumptuous
Decadent, elegant, luxurious
So you open the door, look in the fridge
But your nog expired in ‘96.
Chumps buy it in a box
Just follow these steps like connect the dots
Soon you, too, can drink it on the rocks,
And you’ll be livin’ la vida yolk-a
Put 4 egg yolks in a cup cup cup
Beat them up up up
Sugar on top top top
And then you beat ‘em again
Blend in milk and cream. Yum yum
Nutmeg and rum rum rum
Then you’re done
Let me drink that nog
Keep some in your freezer - dun duh dun duh
Give it to your neighbor - dun duh dun duh
Feed it to a tiny dog.
That nog n-nog nog nog
Take it everywhere you go - dun duh dun duh
If you’re ever running low - uh oh uh oh
You can always make some mo’
That nog n-nog nog nog
You want a beverage so sumptuous
Something to commemorate Festivus?
Well, raise your glass to winter cheer,
And watch that nog inflate your rear
It’s loaded with cholesterol
Enjoy it while you deck the halls
Don’t be a hog; just share the nog
We wish you a merry Christmas
Put 4 egg yolks in a cup cup cup
Beat them up up up
Sugar on top top top
And then you beat ‘em again
Blend in milk and cream. Yum yum
Nutmeg and rum rum rum
Then you’re done
Let me drink that nog
Drink it on safari - dun duh dun duh
Playing your Atari - dun duh dun duh
Drink it while you blow your nose
That nog n-nog nog nog
Drink it in the sandbox - dun duh dun duh
Pour it on your grandma - dun duh dun duh
Now she’s beautiful
That nog n-nog nog nog
Take it scuba diving - dun duh dun duh
Take it horseback riding - dun duh dun duh
Bring it to a booty call
That nog n-nog nog nog
Drink it with your surf n turf - dun duh dun duh
Sitting in the back of church - dun duh dun duh
Drink it playing basketball
That nog n-nog nog nog
You made a beverage so sumptuous
Now Santa looks voluptuous
You are under the influence
You brought home a hippopotamus
You just couldn’t be reasoned with
Now, look at what the hippo did.
Kris Kringle’s blood is on your hands
And eggnog is delicious
Put 4 egg yolks in a cup cup cup
Beat them up up up
Sugar on top top top
And then you beat ‘em again
Blend in milk and cream. Yum yum
Nutmeg and rum rum rum
Then you’re done
(Yeah Baby, that nog)
Use it as a facial cream - dun duh dun duh
Inject it as a vaccine - dun duh dun duh
Serve it in a banquet hall
That nog n-nog nog nog
(Said I like the whey, baby)
Advertise on craigslist - dun duh dun duh
“Man you gotta try this” - dun duh dun duh
“At a designated safe zone”
Drink my nog n-nog nog nog
(Listen, said I like the whey.
I am getting thirsty)
Take in on a skydive - dun duh dun duh
Use it as a parachute - dun duh dun duh
Lobby it to city hall
That nog n-nog nog nog
(I'm drinkin' nog while I trim the tree
I see the tinsel glistening)
It’ll give you kidney stones - dun duh dun duh
I think that it’s worth it though - dun duh dun duh
Drink it ‘til you’re good and full
Of that nog n-nog nog nog

The cold wind is blowing and the streets are getting dark
I'm writing you a letter and I don't know where to start
The bells will be ringing Saint John, The Divine
I get a little lonely every year around this time
The music plays all night in Little Italy
The lights will be going up on old Rockafella's tree
People window shoppin' on fifth avenue
But all I want for Christmas is you
I've got to know
(Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas)
Where do lonely hearts go?...
(Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas)
Oh..., Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas
The dancing shadows on the wall
(The two-step in the hall)
Are all I see since you've been gone
(turning, turning, turning)
Through all I sit here and I wait
(I turn to stone, I turn to stone)
Will you return again someday
to my blue world?
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone, when ya comin' home
I can't go on
Yes, I'm turnin' to stone
'Cause you ain't coming home
Why ain't you comin' home
If I'm turnin' to stone
You've been gone for so long
And I can't carry on
Yes, I'm turnin', I'm turnin'
I'm turnin' to stone
I've spent a lot of money and I've spent a lot of time
The trip we made to Hollywood is etched upon my mind
After all the things we've done and seen you find another man
The things you think are useless I can't understand
Are you reelin' in the years?
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tiers?
Have you had enough of mine
Are you reelin' in the years?
Stowin' away the time
Are you gatherin' up the tears
this Christmas time?
Do you remember sleigh ridin' in the snow?
And dancin' all night to “baby, please come home”
Today's celebration is bittersweet
Santa can’t you hear me?
But, I've got to know
(Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas)
Where do lonely hearts go?...
(Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas)
Oh..., Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas
Oh..., Nobody ought to turn to stone on Christmas!
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
(Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas)
I turn to stone, when you comin' home?
I can't go on
(Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas)
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
(Nobody wants to turn to stone on Christmas)

Christmas Eve
04:10
|
|||
All alone I watch the quiet rain
Wonder if it's gonna snow again
Silent night
Holy night
I was praying you'd be here with me
But Christmas Eve ain't what it used to be
Silent night
Holy night
If you were beside me
Then I could hear angels
And I'd give you rainbows
For Christmas
Somewhere far away the sleigh bells ring
I remember when we used to sing,
Silent night
Holy night
I keep you inside me
All the truth is unspoken
So my heart won't be broken
On Christmas
They lit the trees along the avenue
Twinkling silver with a touch of blue
Silent night
Holy night
All alone I watch the quiet rain
Wonder if it's gonna snow again
Silent night
Holy night
I was praying you'd be here with me
But Christmas Eve ain't what it used to be
Silent night
Holy night

Children sleeping
Snow is softly falling
Dreams are calling
Like bells in the distance
We were dreamers
Not so long ago
But one by one, we
All had to grow up
It's so sad of a feeling
When you stop believing
And after all is said and done
You're gonna be the lonely one, oh
Do you believe in Santa Claus?
Or does something deep inside you say
"The evidence isn't strong enough, no"
Trains move quickly
To their journey's end
Destinations
Are where we begin again
Ships go sailing
Far across the sea
Trusting starlight
To get where they need to be
I need time to move on
I need a love to feel strong
'Cause I've had time to think it through
And maybe I'm too good for you, oh
Do you believe in Santa Claus?
Or does something deep inside you say
"The evidence isn't strong enough, no"
Do you believe in Santa Claus?
Do you stay awake all night and wait
To see if your chimney’s strong enough, oh!
Many nights we prayed
With no proof, anyone could hear
In our hearts a hopeful song
We barely understood
Yet now I'm standing here
My hearts so full, I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words
I never thought I'd say
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
When you believe in Santa Claus
You can take a ride inside his sleigh
He'll hold you in if you're not strong enough, oh!
When you believe in Santa Claus
He’ll break into your home and say,
“The Sloman’s Shield isn’t strong enough, no!”
(Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly)
[Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe, somehow you will]
And I know what the truth is
'Cuz I know that I am strong
And I'll believe you evermore
(You have everything you need)
[Now you will]
Well I'll believe you evermore
(You have everything you need)
[Now you will]
Oh, I'll believe you evermore
[You will when you believe]
(If you just believe)
When you believe in Santa Claus
(You have everything you need
if you just believe)
[You will when you believe]
When you believe in Santa Claus
(You have everything you need
if you just believe)
[You will when you believe]
